OBITUARY.

MASTERTON CLUB EVENT. RACE FROM OHAKUNE. The Masterton Racing Pigeon Club dew the first race of the season from Ohakunc, an airline distance of 110 miles, yearling birds only competing. Fourty-seven birds were liberated and made good time after their long winter spell. The first eight placings, counting for club points were:—C. J. Douglas’s Diable Bien, 2 hours 46 minutes 14 seconds, 1; W. J. Miller’s Blue Bonnet, 2-48-58, 2; W. J. Miller’s Night Princess, 2-50-26, 3; F. Harding’s Taxino, 2-51-37, 4; F. Harding’s Winooka, 2-51-48, 5; V. H. Stears’s Master Bricoux, 2-52-57, 6; R. Pearson and Son’s Cornwall, 2-53-20, 7; V. H. Stears’s Warspite, 2-54-17, 8. Owing to heavy rain, the second race from Ohakune was abandoned. The next race will be from Hunterville for old birds.
