Mrs. F. W. temple is staying with Mrs. J. Hessey for a few days. Miss May Jessep, of Wairoa, is visiting Masterton, and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Baty, Renall Street. Mr. John Farrell, touring representative for the Don Cossack Choir, was in Masterton yesterday making arrangements for their appearance in Masterton on Wednesday, August 25. Motions of sympathy with the relatives of the-late Miss Jessie Campbell, formerly of Masterton, were passed, members standing in silence, at yesterday’s meeting of the Wellington Education Board. The chairman (Mr. W. V. Dyer) said that Miss Campbell had been in the board’s service for 29 years and had served with the utmost credit in many districts.
