YUKON TERRITORY.
DEMAND FOR PLEBISCITE. DAWSON (Yukon), April 30. The Dawson Territorial Council, in a protest to Ottawa, demands a plebiscite on the annexation of the Yukon territory by British Columbia owing to violation of the democratic rights of the citizens. (The Premier of British Columbia, Mr. T. D. Patullo, announced some days ago that an agreement had been reached with the Dominion Government for the acqu'isitiqn of the Yukon territory by British Columbia, subject to the approval of the Legislature of the province. The terms are that the Dominion Government shall retain the post office, national revenue, justice, and Indian departments, and pay the province 125,000 dollars annually for the next five years to meet expenditure on reservations for the use of the Indian population).
