PERSONAL.

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Maunsell and family, of Opaki, Masterton, are spending a week’s, holiday at Paraparainnu. The funeral of the late Mr. F. A. Allen, which took place in Masterton yesterday was attended by many friends and sympathisers. A number of beautiful wreaths were in evidence and the pall-bearers were friends of the late Mr. Allen. The Rev. John Davie was the officiating minister. Sir James Parr, a former Minister of Education, was a visitor to Masterton yesterday. He was not aware of the school jubilee celebrations otherwise, he stated, he would have welcomed an opportunity of taking part. He laid the foundation stone of the original Wairarapa High School buildings in 1922.
