PERSONAL.
♦ The many friends of the Rev. W. McDonald, who has been in hospital for the past six weeks, will be glad to hear that he returned home yesterday. Mr. McDonald’s health is greatly improved, but it will still be some time before he will be able to resume the duties of his charge.
Tho engagement is announced of Miss Bessie Smith, formerly of St. Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls, 'Masterton, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Smith, “Trethella,” Woodville, to Mr. George Ronaldson McLean, elder son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. R. McLaren, Hawera.
Mr. Paul Dudson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Dudson, of Carterton, has received notice of his promotion to the position of Registrar of the Native Land Court ut Wanganui. Mr. Dudson first commenced with the Land Court as clerk in Gisborne, and after some years' service was promoted to the Wellington office as accountant. His appointment as Registrar at Wanganui Is another step upward.
