INDUSTRIES BILL.

POSTPONEMENT URGED. WAIROA, October 9. The Wairoa Chamber of Commerce, at its annual meeting, decided to write to the Minister of Industries and Commerce requesting that the final passing of the Industrial Efficiency Bill be deferred until next session. It was stated that too many protests could not be made—the Bill was ~all right up to a point, but was going a bit too far. An effort should be made to stop its being rushed through this session. The Bill would give enormously wide powers and every effort should be made to curtail them. It was being rushed through under the plea that it was to protect manufacturers, but as it stood it covered everything. Mr. S. Ashburn stated /that the Government was rushing too many measures through without giving them the fullest cons id eration.—(P.A.)
