KURIPUNI METHODISTS.

MEETING OF LADIES’ GUILD.

The Kuripuni Methodist Ladies 1 Guild met yesterday afternoon in the Sunday School room. The president (Mrs. W .McDonald) was in the chain Final arrangements were made regarding the sale of work to be held on October 22 and to be opened by Mrs. N. H. Prior. A beautiful nine-piece morning tea set was received as the prize for most points in the cooking competition. Special thanks were accorded to the donor, Mr. F. Marshall. Warm thanks were expressed also to Mrs. Catton for the gift of a beautiful dolt with fitted garments. This is to be a prize in a girls’ competition. Many useful articles have been made and received by the members of the Guild for the various stalls and the public are assured of a profitable and happy afternoon on the 22nd.

After a most enjoyable afternoon tea, handed round by the hostesses, Mrs. Welch and Miss E. Jones, the Rev. W. McDonald introduced Mr. F. Norris, who was there by to speak on behalf of the Blind Institute and to invite support for the concert to be given by the Blind Institute Band in Masterton on October 21. Some tickets have already been sold by members of the Guild.
