MISS JEAN BATTEN’S FLIGHT TO NEW ZEALAND. RECORD TIME FROM BRINDISI TO CYPRUS. DEPARTURE FOR BAGDAD. LONDON, October 6. Leaving Brindisi at dawn this morning, Miss Jean Batten, who is flying to New Zealand, arrived at Cyprus. She made record time from Brindisi. After refuelling, she left without delay for Bagdad. HALT AT PUMPING STATION. BAGDAD, October 6. Miss Jean Batten landed at the Irak Petroleum Company’s pumping station midway between Damascus and Bagdad. She is expected at Bagdad tomorrow. BASRA TO KARACHI. (Received Wednesday, 11.55 p.m.) BASRA, October 7. Miss Batten arrived 3.50 a.m. (Greenwich mean time) and left for Karachi at 4.45 a.m.
