SAMOAN REQUESTS.

APPOINTMENT OF ADVISORS DESIRED. AWAITING GOVERNMENT’S REPLY. (Received Wednesday, 5.5 p.m.) APIA, October 6. The Faipules’ fono submitted two remits to-day, first, that Malietoa and Tuimalealiifano be “faut.ua,” which means adviser and that the Hon. R. Nelson be “faatonu,” which means a director or advisor in relations between the mandated administration and the Samoans, these three together to attend and take part in the fono of the Faipules. The second remit is that all Chinese be sent away from Samoa. The fono adjourned while these remits were forwarded by radio to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage), in Wellington.
