WEDDING.

WITHEY—JURY.

The wedding of Olive, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs Albert Jury, of Featherston, to Edward John, son of Mrs Harlock and the late Mr. Withey, of Greytown, took place at St. John’s Church, Featherston, on Saturday afternoon. The officiating clergyman was the Rev C. H. Isaacson, of Greytown, assisted by the vicar, the Rev. W. J. Durrad. Miss Joan Sadler presided at the organ The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a classical fitting parchment satin gown, with shaped train. The veil, which formed a second train, was of embroidered parchment net, worn with a coronet of orange blossom. The bride carried a sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaids were Miss Vera Jury, sister of the bride, and Miss Edna Withey, sister of the bridegroom. They both wore picture frocks of pink net over satin, with godettes faced with silver, frilled sleeves, and pink mittens, and carried shade pink Victorian posies. Mr. Alex. Gregg of Greytown, was best man, and Mr. Ron Sadler, of Featherston, was groomsman. Messrs R. Barnard and T. George acted as ushers. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by Don Sadler. Mrs Jury received some 80 guests at the wedding breakfast held subsequently in the Methodist Hall. She wore a navy blue and white ensemble with hat and shoes to tone. Later, when the happy couple left for their honeymoon, which is to be spent in Christchurch, the bride travelled in a navy costume, pink blouse, with hat, shoes gloves and bag to tone. Mr. and Mrs Withey were the recipients of many useful and beautiful presents. In the evening a dance was held.
