LODGE AFFAIRS.
FORE.STERS’ FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Foresters ’ Lodge was held on Monday night, when there was a fair attendance of members, presided over by C.R., Bro. R. Davies. The sick visitor reported favourably on the sick members. The secretary reported that two members had declared on the funds, and one declared off. C.R. Bro. R. Davies referred to the death of Mrs. D. Jackson, the members standing in silence as a mark of respect. C.R. Bro. Davies reported on Court Pahiatua’s Golden Jubilee, and also on the U.F.S. Council card tournament. He stated that the final games would be played on Thursday in the Foresters’ Hall, after which a social evening would be held. The secretary was instructed to forward a letter of congratulation to Bro. T. Marks, who has been appointed deputy commissioner. The secretary was also instructed to write to Court Epuni and make arrangements for the annual indoor bowls tournament, and also to make arrangements with Court Marquis of Normanby to fix a date for the card shield tournament. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £26 Is 8d were passed.
