KRUSE AND BOESCH DRAW AT NEW PLYMOUTH. AWARD BY REFEREE HOTLY DISPUTED. NEW PLYMOUTH, August 23. Kruse and Boesch drew before the best wrestling house this season on Saturday night. The match was full of fire, both men trying hard for a win. There was comparatively little showmanship, but heavy jolts, biting and punching characterised the later rounds. There was a sensation in the seventh round, when the referee awarded an equalising submission fall against Boesch. Kruse had him held in a deadly hammerlock for six minutes in the sixth round, completely paralysing Boesch’s arm, which required manipulation back into its normal position by his second at the end of the round. Kruse applied the same hold at the opening of the seventh round and Boesch was in considerable pain. The referee called: 4 4 Are you all right?” Boesch called 4 4 N0,” and a submission fall was awarded. Boesch expressed surprise, arguing violently with the referee and came to the Press table. He denied having submitted, threw a chair into the ring and again argued with the referee. Later he explained that he thought the referee had made the proper inquiry: 4 4 Do you give in?” and had replied 44 N0.” Despite a violent eighth round, there were no further falls. Boesch knocked out his opponent in the fifth round with jolts to the head and took a fall with a body press. The crowd demonstrated wildly against the verdict.— (P.A.) _____
