WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
MEETING AT MAURICEVILLE. The Mauriceville Women’s Institute met in the Mauriceville Hall on Tuesday when Mrs. H. Freeman presided. Miss E. Milner was appointed to take charge of the Drama Circle. Mrs. A. Forsberg, who attended the recent conference at Dunedin as the Mauriceville delegate, delivered a most interesting and comprehensive report. During th,e afternoon opportunity was taken to farewell Mrs. G. Neilsen, who leaves shortly to reside in Eketahuna, and who has taken a keen interest in the work since the formation of the Institute in Mauriceville. She was presented with a bouquet and a beautiful bronze bowl. The competitions held during the afternoon resulted as follow:—Gloves, Mrs. A. Forsberg 1, Miss M. Larsen 2. Pastry, Mrs. H. iyeeman 1, Mrs. G. Neilsen 2. A hearty Vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. J. Mac Lean who gave an interesting demonstration on hairpin work.
