PACIFIC SHIPPING.

REPORT BY COMMITTEE AWAITED. LONDON, August 11. Shipping circles discount reports of immediate developments in the Pacific shipping position. The P. and O. Company are naturally fully behind the efforts of the chairman of Canadian Pa cific Steamships, Ltd., Sir Edward Beatty, to expedite a solution of tne problem, but they emphasise that the matter has been brought to a standstill pending the report of the Imperial Shipping Committee which is now unlikely to be presented till after the holidays. The situation so far as the British Government is concerned is unchanged. Any action will largely depend upon what the committee reports.
