EVENTS AT DANZIG.
BRITAIN KEEPING CLOSE WATCH. Recent “security measures.” RUGBY, July 21. Newspapers are unfavourably impressed by the nature of the so-called “security measures” adopted by the Danzig Government, and aro closely watching the situation in the Free City. The League of Nations High Commissioner, Mr. Sean Lester, has so far not reported to Geneva on the situation, but is generally expected to do so. The League at its last meeting appointed a Committee of Three—Britain, France and Portugal—to watch Danzig developments, and Mr. Eden, who has long been League rapporteur on Danzig, is chairman of this committee as well as being President of the League Council. Tne British representatives in Warsaw and Danzig are reporting to London on the present position of affairs.—(British Official Wireless.)
