COMING TO-MORROW. “THE CALLING OF DAN MATTHEWS.’ 1 “The Calling of Dan Matthews,” with Richard Arlen in the starring role is one of the two attractions showing at the Cosy Theatre to-mor-row night. Based on the famous novel by Harold Bell Wright, the production gives Arlen one of his best roles to date and brings to the screen an interesting and charming personality in Charlotte Wynters, late of the American stage. The story is a dramatic one of a young, small-town pastor who goes to work trying to clean up the town. Buck Jones, fast-riding, quick-shooting son of the plains, appears in “The Fighting Ranger,” the second attraction picturing the old, bad West on the Arizona border. Buck is seen as an Arizona Ranger bent on avenging the death of his brother by “The Cougar,” notorious outlaw. He adopts the identity of an imprisoned smalltime bad-man, and soon wins the confidence of “The Cougar,” Reserves at W. G. Perry’s, ’phone 2496.
