GAS ATTACK.

SAFEGUARDS CONSIDERED IN N.S.W. department sends report TO LOCAL BODIES. SYDNEY, July 7. The need for the adoption of measures to combat possible gas attacks by invaders is emphasised in a report which has been sent by the Chief Secretary’s Department to municipal and other bodies in New South Wales. The Government is asking all councils to co-operate in the organisation of an effective scheme for the protection of the civil population, not, it is stated, because war is imminent but because adequate protective measures can only be evolved in times of peace. Preparedness for possible attack is strongly advocated.
