The engagement is announced of Mabel Eva, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Robb, Masterton, to Leslie, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Holtham, Masterton. Miss Jean Jenkins, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Jenkins, Wanganui, formerly of Masterton, has passed her final nursing examination in maternity, midwifery and surgical. The engagement is announced of Phyllis, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. McCord, Albert Street, Masterton, to Douglas, second son of Mr. and the late Mrs. F. E. Power, of Masterton. Lady Prudence Jellicoe, the youngest daughter of the late Earl of Jellicoe, is affianced to a London barrister, Francis, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hope Loudon, of Wye, Kent, a cablegram reports. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. F. Curry, Dixon Street, will regret to learn of the death of their eldest son, Patrick, which occurred at the Public Hospital yesterday, after a brief illness. The child was 4 years and 11 months old. The interment will bo private.
