CONCERT & DANCE.
ENTERTAINMENT AT CENTRAL SCHOOL. A splendid concert was presented in the Central School Assembly Hall last night, arranged by the Parents’ Association. Although the attendance was affected by the weather, those present were most appreciative and many encores were demanded. The items were as follow:—Songs, “My Dear Soul” and “Spreading the News,” Mrs. T. Corkill; trio, “Annie Laurie” and “Bonnie Charlie,” Mesdames Traynor, Ball and Hope; songs, “Somewhere a Voice is Calling” and “Within a Mile of Edinburgh Town,” Mr. H. Jones; “Here’s to Love and Laughter” and “The Blacksmith,” Miss Ralph; “Changing the Guard,” “Mumma Gone Young,” and “Body in the Bag,” Mr. B. Venner; “Angel Land” and “Hushabye Baby,” Mrs. Weatherhead; “When Song is Sweet” and “A Little Old Garden,”- Mr. V. Greer. Mrs. Morton played the accompaniments and Mr. W. R. Nicol was stage manager.
Following the concert an enjoyable dance was held, the M’s.C. being Messrs G. Beecroft and A. Dixon, Mr. Mills provided the music and supper was served by the ladies’ committee. There is a possibility of the concert being repeated at a later date.
