PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs. E. G. Norman, Cole Street, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs. D. Brunton, Dreyer’s Rock Road, Mauriceville, is a visitor to Wellington for the conference of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mrs. A. lorns, Opaki Road, is spending a few days in Wellington. Miss S. Kennedy, Opaki Road, who has been visiting Nelson is returning to Masterton this week. Mrs. H. K. Mclntosh, Te Whiti, is staying in Wellington. FANCY DRESS PARTY. A most successful children’s party was held in St. Matthew’s Parish Hall on Saturday afternoon last, under the auspices of the Ladies’ Guild. There was a large attendance of children and adults. An attractive musical programme was presented by the following:—Song, Beulah Hirst and Billie Kemp; recitations, Marie and Jocelyn Heath, Marion Bennett, Brenda Jaine, Margaret Thomson; dances, Yvonne Saunders, Pat Saunders, Norma Saunders, Margaret Thomson. The following is a list of prizewinners:—Girl under 10 years: Stork, Noeline Graham. Boy under 10 years: Mad Hatter, Randall Thomson. Girl over 16 years: Valentine, Patience Van Praagh. Boy over 10 years: Teddy Bear, Ernest Grigg. Most original: Nosey Parker, Trevor Judd. Prettiest costume: Blue Parasol, Yvonne Burridge. Best pair: Skaters, Peggy Reid and Lionel Kaan. Special prizes: King of Hearts, Ron Perry; Duck, Paddy Bilderbeck; Work Basket, Clare Harrington. The judges were Mrs. G. Hill and Mrs. Olliver.
