DEATH OF MR. C. J. MELROSE. STATE FUNERAL OFFERED. ADELAIDE, July 6. The Premier, Mr. R. L. Butler, said that C. J. Melrose will be given a State funeral if his 'body is brought to Adelaide, otherwise a State Minister will be sent to Melbourne to represent the Government. No decision had been made last night owing to the distressed condition of Mrs Melrose. SORROW IN ENGLAND. LONDON, July 5. The news of Melrose’s death has caused sorrow in English aviation circles. PRESS TRIBUTES. (Received Monday, 8.45 p.m.) LONDON, July 5. The Press sorrowfully pays a tribute to the late Mr. Melrose. The “Daily Telegraph,” in a leader, says he remained a charming young man who refused to be lionised.
