MR. BOWDEN FAREWELLED.

GATHERING OF WJ.CJ4. STAFFS. MR. CUNNINGHAM WELCOMED. A large representation of ths ■ branch staffs and all members of ths ■ .Masterton staff of the Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association Ltd. assembled on Wednesday to say au re voir to Mr. C. M. Bowden, who is shortly relinquishing the. position of msn.ying director of the company. Mr. F, E. Wells, speaking on behalf of the staff, referred to the esteem and respect in which Mr. Bowden was held by them, and to the just and kindly consideration that had cffiaracterissd his relations towards the staff. Mr. Bowdon was the recipient of a beautiful piees of silver pld4e and he was asked to accept for himself, Mrs Bowden and family, sincere best wishes for their future health' and happiness. Mr. Bowden in reply, thanked the (staff for their gift, and referred to soma of the major experiences of the association during, the past few yean. Ha said he felt some satisfaction at the results of his administration and paid a tribute to the assistance he had received from a loyal and efficient staff. Mr. J." H. Cunningham, the newly appointed general manager, was present and introduced to the assembled stafti by Mr. Bowden. Mr. Wells, in welcoming Ml. CWnninghtpn on- behalf of ths staff, assured him of' their full and wholehearted co-operation. Mr. Cunningham, in reply, stated he understood' some of the difficulties a company such as th'e Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-op. Association had experienced during thapast few years, but with the assuranceof the staff’s assistance, he looked forward 1 with confidence to the future.
