STATE THEATRE.
TWO STAR PROGRAMME. “Carnival,” Columbia’s comedy romance featuring Lee Tracy, Sally Eilers, Jimmy Durante and that brilliant new child sensation, Dickie Walters, is one of the two star films to be shown at the State Theatre to-day at 2.15 and 7.45 p.m. It tells the human, heart-warming story of a carnival puppeteer who tries to keep his motherless infant son from being taken away from him. Jimmy Durante, the baby’s comic godfather, and Sally Eilers, as the pianists at Tracy’s show who is deeply in love with him, remain faith-; fully with him through all his exciting, hilarious adventures. The second feature “Behind the Evidence,” is borrowed from h story that blazoned in headlines all over America. An excellent cast is headed by Norman Foster and Sheila Manners, with Donald Cook, Frank Darien, Geneva Mitchell, and Pat O’Malley in supporting roles. Reserves at F. J. Adcock’s, ’phone 1275. “STORMY WEATHER.” Tom Walls, Ralph Lynn and Robertson Hare are the stars in “Stormy Weather,” which will be shown at the State Theatre on Saturday.
