KING AT PORTSMOUTH.
FIRST VISIT TO THE NAVY SINCE ACCESSION. ARRANGEMENTS UPSET BY RAIN LONDON, June 30. Tens of thousands of people lined the streets of Portsmouth for the King's first visit to the Navy since his accession. Rain marred the ceremonies, and an inspection of ratings was cancelled. The King visited the Navy and marine barracks, the torj-edo school, the dockyard, and a number of warships. He wore an admiral’s uniform, and deplored the bad luck of heavy rain.
