Masterton: Miss A. M. Brown reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:— Barograph, 29.83; shade temperature, maximum, 57.6; minimum, 35.4; terrestrial, 28.5; sunshine, 4 hours 35 minutes; frost, 1.9 degrees. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—A moderate depression is crossing the Dominion to-day and pressure is rather low also over the Tasman. Forecast: Winds westerly to south-wes-terly north of Kawhia and Gisborne, elsewhere south-easterly to southerly prevailing, force mainly light to moderate but freshening somewhat. Weather: Changeable, but for the most part cloudy and misty, scattered rains I in most districts, snow on some of the! ranges; temperatures becoming colder. Sun rises, 7.17 a.m.; sets, 4.32 p.m. IJghting-up time, 5.2 p.m.
