LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

MEETING AT CARTERTON.

There was a large attendance at the monthly meeting of the Carterton League of Mothers, Mrs. Every presiding. Ten new members were enrolled. The afternoon took the form of a sketch, “An ordinary morning in an every day home.” Those taking part were: School lunches, Mesdames Mellish and Rabbits; breakfast, Mesdames Harris, Pink and L. Knutsen; laundry, Mesdames Hunt and Balfour; mail bag, Mesdames King and Fawcett; cleaning, Mesdames E. Williams and Peters; lunch, Mesdames Beere, W. Williams and L. Sorensen. Recipes for cooking were available and also hints on cleaning and washing. The programme included a very much appreciated solo by Mrs. L. Knutsen, "Bless this House,” and an appropriate poem by Mrs. Every. Mesdames A. Pink and L. Knutsen undertook to visit sick members during the month and Mesdames L. Aplin and Wiseley to arrange the hall for the next meeting. It has been arranged for Mrs. Edie, of Island Bay, to give an address on Gloria Rawlinson’s poems at the July meeting.
