Mr. J. A. Ferguson, barrister, who was born in Invercargill 54 years ago, was yesterday appointed Judge of the New South Wales Industrial Commission, a Sydney cablegram reports. Councillor P. B. Welch has been appointed to represent the Masterton County Council on the deputation which is to wait on Ministers of the Crown in Wellington to-day regarding improved railway facilities for the Wairarapa.

Mr. M. Iggulden, son of Mr. W. Iggulden, of Masterton, has been appointed manager of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Co’s, branch at Hamilton. For some years Mr. Iggulden haa been stationed at Auckland and the news of his promotion to manager at Hamilton will be received with feelings of satisfaction by his many Maeterton friends. In his younger days Mr. Iggulden was a prominent Wairarapa footballer, playing for the Red Star seniors, as did his father for many years.
