DISTURBING DISCLOSURE.
GERMAN MILITARY MISSION IN HUNGARY. LITTLE ENTENTE NATIONS NERVOUS. SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE DENIED. (Received Monday, 9.20 p.m.) LONDON, May 25. The disclosure that a German military delegation connected with the ordnance and other technical departments of the Reichswehr is visiting Hungary is arousing considerable attention. “The Times ’' Budapest correspondent instances the Little Ententes nervousness as evidenced in a question whether the conversations indicate the concerting of mobilisation and other military plans. Hungarian officials deny any such significance. The “News-Chronicle’s” Budapest correspondent, emphasises the secrecy of the discussions, which may be the German reaction to reports, hitherto unsubstantiated, that Russia has assisted in the establishment of aerodromes in Czechoslovakia and has also sent pilots and men. The correspondent points out that while Austria and Hungary are puzzled to choose between Italy and Britain, owing to the former’s victory in Abyssinia and the latter’s uncertainty in action, both Austria and Hungary are anxious to avoid closer relations with the Italians, whom they distrust, and the Germans, whose domination is feared.
