RUGBY CONTROL.

MEETING OF WAIRARAPA UNION. /At a meeting of the management committee of the Wairarapa Rugby Union, at Carterton on Thursday night all members were present. An application from the Hockey Association for the use of Memorial Park for a mid-week match with the Fijian women's team was granted. The matter of a representative fixture with Poverty Bay at Gisborne was held over till next meeting. The New Zealand Union wrote asking that as the three men in the front row scrum had been adopted, clubs playing under the jurisdiction of this union be asked to play this formation. It was resolved that clubs be circularised to this effect. Messrs S. Willoughby and Q. Donald presented a cup to be known as the Willoughby-Donald Cup for competition between Wairarapa and Hawke's Bay junior representatives. Messrs Willoughby and Donald were heartily thanked for their action and with the chairman, Mr. G. D. Wilson, were appointed a committee to draw up rules. On grounds where only junior and lower grade matches were being played it was resolved that the charge be 6d. The Para Rubber Co. were thanked for their donation of a hose and Mr. and Mrs Gilman were thanked for a donation and past services rendered to the union. It was resolved that the next meeting be held on Tuesday, May 26.
