BIG AIR LINER CRASHES INTO SEA. THIRTY PASSENGERS REPORTED ON BOARD. BRITISH WARSHIP BUSHING TO SCENE. (Received Friday, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, February 14. The Admiralty stated early this morning that the aircraft carrier Furious is travelling at full speed from the Canary Islands to rescue an at present unidentified air liner and thirty passengers, reported to have dived into the sea off Punta Delgada. The Furious was at Teneriffe when it picked up S.O.S. messages from the doomed ’plane just before she crashed.
