MASTERTON SHOW.
ENTRIES UP ON LAST YEAR. NEXT WEEK’S ATTRACTION. A final eheck-up last night of entries for the Masterton Show, to be held at Solway Showgrounds next Tuesday and Wednesday, revealed a very gratifying increase as compared with last year, the figures being nearly 300 up. With such excellent entries the success of the Show seems assured and all that now remains is fine weather and the bumper attendance of the public that the fixture warrants. Arrangements have been completed and everything points to the Show maintaining the very high standards set in the past. Tuesday will be judging day and People’s Day will be observed on Wednesday, when in addition to the many-sided attractions of the Show there will be a procession of decorated vehicles, organised by business men. Entries for this year’s fixture are as follow, the corresponding figures for last year being given in parentheses:— Horses, 282 (305); competitions, 308 (255); cattle, 174 (183); sheep, 522 (433); dogs, 531 (373); pigs, 36 (52); horticulture, 268 (270); poultry, 236 (206), Totals, 2357 (2077).
