PENSION LAWS.
REVIEW DURING NRXT SESSION, GOVERNMENT’S INTENTIONS. AUCKLAND;. February 1. “It is the Government’s plan to review the pensions laws during the coming session of Parliament,”’ said the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry)/ who arrived from Wellington to-day. “The new Bill which is engaging my close attention and will form tile- foundation of the national system of superannuation is almost ready to send to Cabinet.” The. Minister expressed admiration of thework of the staff of the Commissionerof Pensions (-Mr. R. Boyes) who, be said, was investigating a large number of eases on which it had been called upon to- report. The Minister said? he regretted’ that many eases would have to stand 1 over and await the results ef the Government’s review of the law now operating. He mentioned that applications relating to war pensions had to be sent on to the Minister- of Defence. Mr. Parry leaves for Rotorua on Thursday to investigate, Departmental affairs.—(P.A.)
