DANZIG PROBLEM.

REPORT OP THE LEAGUE COMMISSIONER. AN ALARMING SITUATION. LONDON, January 19 1 . The Warsaw correspondent of “The Times” says that the semi-official “Gazet Polska” describes a report which Mr. Sean Lester, the League of Nations High Commissioner in Danzig, is submitting to the League regarding Danzig as alarming. Another newspaper declares it is a thunderbolt. It is understood that Mr. Lester emphasises that the Senate’s unconstitutional procedure and disobedience to the League’s instructions is essentially a League problem, which explains why Colonel Back, the Polish Foreign Minister, is visiting Paris while en route to Geneva in order to consult M. Laval and possibly Mr. Anthony ' Eden, who is rapporteur regarding the Danzig disputes.
