ACCESS TO LAKE.
SPORTSMEN’S REPRESENTATIONS
There was considerable discussion at the annual meeting of the South Wairarapa sub-committee of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, held at Greytown this week, as to the advisability of the society giving up Messrs Armstrong and Williams’s properties, which at present provided sportsmen with access to the Lake.
Mr. R. V. Mason, of Masterton, pointed out that Masterton was just as interested in the properties as the South Wairarapa, and he suggested that the North and South Wairarapa should organise, and that a deputation wait on the Wellington body and object to the doing away with access rights to the Lake provided by those properties. This course was agreed to and tKe deputation was asked to apply for the appointment of a permanent ranger for the district.
