WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton: Miss B. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 30.45; shade temperature, maximum, 63.4; minimum, 42.8; terrestrial, 28.6; sunshine, 6 hours 36 minutes; frost, 1.8 degrees. The Government’ Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows:—The last portion of the recent anti-cyclone is moving off the North Island and a rather deep westerly depression is advancing on to New Zealand, pressure having fallen considerably in the south. Forecast: Winds, moderate to strong northerly to northwesterly, of gale force at places, especially south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint. Weather: Unsettled in the western and southern districts of the South Island, with rain and some heavy falls in Westland; elsewhere fair at first, but cloud increasing generally and rain extending soon to the western and northern portions of the North Island. Temperatures mild in Eastern districts.
