WAIRARAPA LADIES’ FOR N.Z. TOURNAMENT. MATCHES NEXT SATURDAY. The following players have been chosen to represent Wairarapa at the New Zealand Ladies’ championship* tournament, to be held at Gisborne, commencing on August 29 (any player not available ‘is requested to notify the selector, Mr. A. Stubbings, immediately) Goal, Mrs. R. Foster (Old Girls); backs, Mrs. J. Hiroti (Greytown), Miss J. Elliott (Te Ore Ore), Mrs. Cole (Old Girls); halves, Miss N. Spiers (High School), Mrs. Peterson (Greytown), Miss B. Dawson (High School), Miss Ngaturi (Te Ore Ore); forwards, Miss H. Henderson (United), Mrs. McDonald, captain (Te Ore Ore}, Miss M. Dauber (G'reytown), Miss G. Jackson (United), Miss D. Roberts (United), Miss M. Rhodes and Miss I. Wilson (Gneytown). Next Saturday the Bush ladies’ tournament team will play the Wairarapa representatives and as both these teams are entered in the championship tournament, though in different sections, a good line will be drawn as to either team's chances. The senior B team will play the junior representatives on the same afternoon and as these two teams are engaged to play at Wellington at the end of the month, it will afford players an opportunity of working up some combination. The following are the Wairarapa teams:— Senior A v. Bush: Mrs. Foster, Mrs. Hiroti, Misses Elliott, Spiers, Mrs.’Peterson, Misses R. Ngaturi, Henderson, Mrs. McDonald (captain), Misses M. Dauber, G. Jackson, D. Roberts. Emergencies: Mrs. Cole, Misses Dawson, M. Rhodes, I. Wilson.
Senior B v. junior representatives: Mrs. Bliss, Misses Stalker, Bassett, Howse, Mrs. Dunce (captain), Mrs. Pickard, Misses B. McKenzie, C. Madson, Mrs. Steffiert, Misses E. Burns, L. Kilgour. Emergencies: Misses Beiliss 1 , J. Andrews, P. Andrews. Junior representatives v. senior B: Goal, Miss V. Watson; backs, Misses M. Brown (captain), J. Wilton; halves, Misses R. Harding, N. Rutherford, M. P'eterson; forwards, Misses J. Harding, E. Barnes, N. Page, P. Tully, M. Henderson. Emergencies: Misses J. Hutton, D. Le Forte, A. Beech. Players not available are asked to ring the selector, Mr. Harding, immediately.

LAST MATCH OF AUSTRALIAN TOUR. (Received Sunday, 6.36 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 11. Playing their last match in Australia the New Zealand women’s hockey team brilliantly defeated the Metropolitan team 4/1, after the score had been 1/1 at half-time.-
