Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. August 10:—Barograph, 30.58; shade temperature, maximum, 61.2; minimum, 29.8; terrestrial, 22; sunshine, 8 hours 12 minutes; frost, 8.4 degrees. August 11: Barograph, 30.60; shade temperature, maximum, 58; minimum, 32; terrestrial, 23; sunshine, 9 hours. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows:—There, is little change in the pressure distribution. An intense anti-cyclone still covers the New Zealand area and there is a shallow depression over the Western Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds, light and variable, but tending northerly and freshening about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Weather: Still mainly fair to fine, but some showers likely in far south and Infer' at scattered places on West Coast of South Island. Cold night, but mild day temperatures. z Sun rises, 6.47 a.m.'; sets/ 5.5 p.m. Lighting-up time, 5.35 p.m.
