CARTERTON SALE.
WRIGHT STEPHENSON & CO., LTD. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report;—We held our weekly sale at Carterton yesterday when we offered a biff yarding to the usual attendance. Only a few pens of sheep were offered and these made good values. The best quality springing heifers and cows sold well, but inferior and late calvers were* neglected. Fat and store eows were slightly firmer. Pigs again sold well and the whole yarding changed hands at very good prices. Following are our realisations:—
Sheep: Wether hoggets, 18/, 18/4 to 19/1; small hoggets, 14/9, 16/5 to 16/6; fat ewes, to 15/9; m.s; hoggets, to 16/6. Cattle: Young cows on drop, £3/15/, £4 to £4/12/6; springing cows, £2/5/ to £3/10/; eows just calved, £2/15/ to £3 2/6; springing heifers (good), £3, £3 15/, £4 to £5; 2-year springing heifers, £2 to £3/5/; fat cows, £2/12/6 to £3 10/; forward cows, 35/ to £2/7/6; store eows, 17/6 to 30/; potter bulls, 31/ to £2/2/.
Pigs: Weaners (small , 13/ to 15/; weaners (good), 15/6, 16/, 17/6, 18/ to 19/; slips, 19/6 to 23/6; porkers, 25/, 27/, 28/6 to 30/; sows to farrow, £4 to £4/15/; cow with litter, £7/15/.
