“MAHOE” FRIESIAN SALE.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a very satisfactory sale on behalf of Major R. A. Wilson on the property at Turakina. There was a representative attendance, buyers being present from Wanganui, Waikato, and Napier. All lots submitted sold under good competition, and it is evident that the Friesian Stock is coming into its own. The “Mahoe” Stud is renowned for the careful selection and the high butterfat backing, and no doubt this is accountable for the interest taken in the sale . The following are prices:— 2-yr. heifers, r.w. stud bulls, from 5 to 13} gns., average slightly over 7} gns. A two-year bull, “Mahoe Laurustinns,” was sold at 23} gns. to Mr. W. B. Croad, Mangawhata. “Mahoe Basswood,’’ bull of the same age was sold at 16} gns. to Mr. S. Klatt, Ohakea. Yearling bulls also commanded attention, selling at 10} to llgns.
