PERSONAL.

Mr. A. Harris, M.P., for Waitemata, announced yesterday that he did not intend to stand for Parliament again at the coming election.—(P.A.) The friends of Mr. and Mrs. James Karaitiana will regret to learn of the death of their daughter, Ruth Ruta, which occurred at Te Ore Ore on Tuesday after a short illness, at the age of 11 years. The funeral will take place at Te Ore Ore to-day at 1 p.m.

Eulogistic references were made at last night’s meeting of the Trust Lands Trust to the recent academic successes at Home of Dr. P. H. Sykes, a former Wairarapa High School pupil. It was resolved to write congratulating Dr. Sykes on his very fine achievements.
