HEAVY MOTOR OIL
IMPOSITION OF NEW TAX IN BRITAIN. RUGBY, August 7. The duty of 8d per gallon on heavy hydrocarbon oil used as fuel for road vehicles comes into force to-morrow. The tax was imposed in the last Finance Act to safeguard revenue from petrol duty in view of the increasing number of vehicles fitted with heavy oil engines.—(British Official Wireless.)
