WEDDING.
CAMERON—MATTHEWS.
St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, was the scene of a pretty wedding recently, when Audrey Ruth, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Matthews, ‘‘Wharepapa, ’ ’ Featherston, was married to Hector lan, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Cameron, “Moeraki, ” Hinakura. The Rev. G. B. Stephenson, Dannevirke, uncle of the bride, officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. J. Durrad, of Featherston.
The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a graceful gown of pearl satin, the yoke and train of which were beautifully embroidered in net and pearls, the train being edged with knife pleated satin frills. Her long embroidered tulle veil was arranged with a silver cord and orange blossom. She carried a sheath of pale pink and white carnations and sweet sultans.
The bride was attended by Miss Joyce Akers (chief), a cousin, Miss Judith Matthews, sister, and Miss Kirsty Cameron, sister of the bridegroom, and Elizabeth Cundy, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl. The three elder maids wore sapphire blue taffeta gowns, made On simple lines, with shoulder capes, the skirts -having flounces from the hips to form trains. All wo’re silver leaf head bands and carried autumn-tinted bouquets. The small flower , girl looked dainty in a long frilled pearl satin frock. She carried a posy of pink flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. D. Sutherland as best man, and Mr; J. Roberts and Mr., I. Oldham as groomsman.
The bride’s mother wore a smart frock of midnight blue georgette and lace, with pink shoulder spray and black velvet hat. She carried a pink bouquet. The bridegroom’s mother wore a handsome black frock, with touches of white, black velvet hat and furs. She carried a blue and gold bouquet. The church was decorated with autumn leaves and chrysanthemums by Mrs. Steele, an aunt of the bride. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Matthews entertained their guests in St. Matthew’s Hall, which had been very artistically decorated for the occasion by Miss Robieson. Later the bridal couple left on a motor tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a brown tweed costume, smartly trimmed with fur, brown halo hat and crocodile shoes and bag to match.-
