REPUDIATION OF WAR

STAND BY FREE CHURCHES IN BRITAIN. UTMOST SUPPORT FOR LEAGUE. WORLD-WIDE APPEAL. (Received. Thursday, 7.25 p.m.) LONDON, April 11. Following on the Rev. F. W. Norwood’s address in which he urged that there was no alternative for the churches of the world to a complete and final repudiation of war, the Free Church Assembly passed a resolution declaring that war was contrary to the mind of Christ and that God had willed its abolition, and calling on the Free Churches to give the utmost support to the League of Nations and, press for disarmament. The Assembly appealed to churches throughout the world to resist excessive nationalism and urge governments totally to abolish aerial warfare.
