LANSDOWNE SCHOOL.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

The monthly meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee was held on Tuesday at the school, Mr. H. E. Pither presiding. Accounts amounting .to £ll 5s were passed.

Appreciation of the borough’s action in promptly carrying out fencing repairs adjoining the school grounds was expressed by members. The Eduaction Board advised that capitation allowances for the upkeep of the school had again been reduced for .the current year. The visiting committee reported that grounds, etc., were in excellent order and that arrangements had been made to carry out repairs to the openair school and to the asphalt. The headmaster reported an increase in attendance and that the school had been visited during the month by the Board’s Doctor, who reported very favourably on the general health of the pupils. ■ i )
