ALARM IN FRANCE.
PREPARATION OF ENORMOUS AIR FLEET. MINISTER DETAILS PLANS. PARIS, March 21. General Denain, Minister of Air explaining the Government’s Bill to provide a further £22,000,000 for the Air Force said It aimed at bringing up the total strength to the desired level as early as possible in 1936. It would enable the number of aeroplanes to be raised from 1,100 to 1,500. Special attention would be paid to heavy bombing 'planes. Germany’s air development made it clear that France could not wait longer before increasing her Air Force. WORK SPEEDED UP. THOUSANDS OF FIGHTING MACHINES. (Received Friday, 7.0 p.m.) LONDON, March 21.. The “Daily Mail’s” Paris correspondent says that war 'plane factories are working at top speed, following on the Air Commission's approval of the Government plans to increase the air strength. Already twenty-eight millions have spent under General Denain’s three-year plan to renovate the Air Army by the end of 1936. Now an additional twenty-two millions will be spent, enabling the completion of the plan by the end of 1935 and providing between four thousand and five thousand fighters and bombers.
