FIRE PREVENTION.

DEMONSTRATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE.

The observance of Fire Prevention Week in Masterton will be brought to a conclusion this afternoon, when a special display for children will take place at the Fire Station at 2 o’clock, followed by a demonstration of pumping at the Park Lake at 3 o’clock. Last year, when similar arrangements were made the children flocked to the station and Park in their hundreds and it is expected that there will again be a large attendance to-day. The superintendent, Mr. T. B. Clark, will give a short address to the young folk at the station, to stress the importance of observing precautions to minimise the risk of fire.

Last evening, the brigade’s two engines appeared in Queen Street, bearing slogans drawing public attention to Fire Prevention Week.
