RUGBY SEASON.
BED STAB CLUB ANNUAL ; IyrF.FTTTJfI FOUB TEAMS TO BE ENTERED. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Red Star Football Club, held in the Foresters’ Hall last night. The president, Mr. A. G. Corskie, presided. The annual report, which has already appeared in "The Age" and the balance sheet were adopted. Seventeen new members were elected. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. D. J. Cameron; president, Mr. A. G. Corskie; vice-presidents, Messrs. B. Iveson, S. Gilman, J. A. Betts, G. A. Vincent, R. Shackleton, P. Southey, W. Dam-ill, T. T. Redman, C. Lewis, P. L. Williams, J. Wing, F. Slattery, C. C. Ross, H. Fahey, F. Traynor; delegates to annual meeting of the Wtirarapa Rugby Union, Messrs. S. F. Brown, A. E. Freerhan; club captain, Mr. F. Brown; coaches, left to ‘the teams; secretary, Mr. F. Clark; treasurer, Mr. R. Milne; Auditor, Mr. A. Ibbetson; management committee, Messrs. R. Devine, R. Howard, S. Henson, E. Freeman, T. .OorkiU, 3- Willoughby, J. Donovan, J. Wing; social committee, Messrs. D. Findlay, J. Paltridge, P. Southey, C. Wyeth, M. Howard, N. Harding, R. Thompson; delegate to Junior Advisory Board, Mr 8. Willoughby. ■ It was decided to enter four teams ih the competitions—senior, junior, third and fourth grade. The delegates were instructed to support the suggestion that all teams should be allowed nineteen passes per Saturday. The club decided to support the appointment of sole selectors for the senior and junior representative teams. The management committee was recommended to set up a sub committee to draw up a set of rales for the club, to be submitted to a general meeting o f members.
It was decided to hold the first practice of the season on Saturday week j and that each team appoint its own selectors.
I A recommendation was made to the management committee that in view of the difficulty experienced by clubs in collecting travelling expenses for lower gkade players, that in the ensuing year the third grade competition be played ip two divisions, and the fourth grade also if possible. The subscriptions and honorary members’ subscription were fixed at the same as last year.
A vote of thanks was passed to the secretary for his services during the past year, particularly his efforts in connection with the forthcoming jubilee.
A similar compliment was paid to the president (Mr. Corskie), the treasurer (Mr. Milne), the retiring committee, and to Mr. J. Donovan, retiring delegate to the Rugby Union.
