CRICKET.
MATCH WITH HAWKE’S BAY ABANDONED. Only 11 nominations were received from Wairarapa clubs for the Wairarapa representative cricket team to play Hawke’s Bay, and since then two other players have found it impossible to secure leave to make the trip. The Wairarapa Association has, therefore, been forced to telegraph to the Hawke’s Bay A&soeiation, regretting that a representative team could not possibly make the trip. Players are asked to note that senior and junior fixtures will be played as usual on Saturday, except that, owing to the High School Fair, the High School junior team will default to Red Star. As a result of the position of teams in the senior championship, the fixtures for the next two games will have to be revised, and may have to be altered in order to secure a decision 1 by the time the season closes.
LANSDOWNE v. TUI BREWERY. A strong team from Lansdowne visited Mangatainoka at.the week-end to play the local team in a match on the Domain. The visitors won by eight wickets in. a two-innings fixture. The conditions were ideal and the visitors were hospitably entertained.
