WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

MEETINGS AT MT. BRUCE. The January meeting of the Mt. Bruce Women’s Institute was held at the riverside. The competition, “Something new from something old,” was won by Miss O. Campbell, with Mrs. C. Campbell second. After the business, swimming was indulged in. Mm R. Campbell acted as hostess. The February meeting was held on Thursday, Mrs. McLachlan presiding. The roll call was suggestions for next year’s programme, and the competition, “The most useful article from a 1001 b. Hour bag.” Miss Isla Campbell was first, with Mesdames Daken, J. Campbell, R. Campbell and Miss O. Campbell equal for second place. A most interesting demonstration was given by Mrs. R. Campbell on the making of bouquets and wreaths, also arranging flowers for table decoration. Mrs. Daken was hostess for the afternoon.
