THE REGENT.

1 ‘PRINCE OF ARCADIA.”

Bright entertainment, with plenty of light and airy nonsense, is promised in 4 Prince of Arcadia,” is the current attraction at the Regent Theatre. 'The story-writer’s imagination has ’ played fast and loose with principalities 4 4 somewhere east of the Rhine,” and the royalties and aristocrats of Arcadia act as would be expected. Intrigue and misbehaviour by those in high station annoy the more level-headed in the country, and one by one the offenders are bundled out. The last to go is the Prince of Arcadia, who follows his kinsfolk, and resumes his old habits immediately he arrives in the place the merry exiles have chosen as their resort. His royal taste favours an actress, then quite as suddenly he turns her down. His royal aunt takes a hand in the game, and insists upon his betrothal to a cousin who has other ambitions. Once again the actress comes into the picture, and •.the whole merry plot boils over. Carl Brisson is the Prince of Arcadia, and he fills the role to satisfaction, flirting with gay abandon, singing with charm. Margot Grahame and Ida Lupino are the two girls, Annie Edmond the exiled queen, and Peter Gawthorne the equerry accompanying Prince Carl into what the story humorously terms fi exile.” “ Prince of Arcadia” is a thoroughly enjoyable entertainment.
